The Blind Sees
The blind is sightless and yet see.(c) 2014 Walterrean Salley
The blind can see? How could it be?
He aptly sees through dreams held dear
Where images are plain and clear.
He sees through visions vast and keen
His abilities to abound.
He sees through the light of senses
Through touch, taste, smell and sound.
The laughing brook and cool raindrops
Bird, and flower, and honeycomb.
All things by sensory perception
The blind can see e’en from the womb.
World Sight Day is a global event that focuses on bringing attention on blindness and vision impairment. It is observed on the second Thursday of October each year. (Oct 8 2015 is World Sight Day United Nations observance.)
