Savannah’s Southside Traffic

The south-side traffic’s a headache
That people seek to shun,
But find themselves caught therein
When all is said and done.

Although tired and weary,
Both the old and the young
Drive bumper to bumper—
Just creeping right along.

Dolefully, they sing
The same old sad song:
Dump the southside traffic,
And bring something better on.

Lord, please have mercy.
Oh, what a daunting fight.
Those south-side traffic jams
Are such an awful plight.

But patience, that trusty virtue,
Is the key to getting through;
It will calm those temper flairs
As it is known to do.
