A Summer-Swan Song

Summer has given us leisure and fun
She has exuded a stellar performance
We had a great time, she had a great run.
But there’s another trend a coming,
A shadow with a familiar call.
And looming somewhere very near,
‘Pon the horizon, prances the fall.
Ah, summer she must yield the way.
And duly pass the ole baton.
She must decrease as fall increases;
Her yearly circuit’ almost done.
Her fiery sun shall cool, anon,
Soon as her annual course is run,
