Autumnal Changes

From summer fun to fall’s harvest
Comes now the changing of the guard
As autumn takes up the new watch
With changes from woodland to yard.
Landscapes morph before the eye;
Out with the old, in with the new.
How lovely is the chic fall bride
Yellow, gold, red, and purple hue.
Listen closely, and you can hear
The choruses of rustling leaves.
And feel the coolness in the air,
Chaperoned by the gentle breeze.
The quiet changing of the guard
Descending ‘pon woodland and yard.
